A Clever Family hack by Mrs.Vikas
Mr. and Mrs. Vikas are typical middle age, hardworking sweet couple. Mrs. Vikas works for an IT organization. She is hard-working and smart, who has prioritized a career with good work-life balance. She takes care of the finances, insurances, bills, loans and all related tasks.Mr. Vikas is a house husband, a part time chef by profession who loves spending time with kids, takes care of the house and their dog and always plans their family vacations.
One day, while on the way to work, Mrs. Vikas met with an accident, instantly slipping into coma, possibly for weeks if not months. Their life had suddenly turned upside down. The burden of the hospital, medical expenses, house loan, car loan payment, children’s education loan, and bills started piling on Mr.Vikas. He was always given enough amount by his wife for any household expenses and never felt the need to know about these things, as she handled them with ease and he was engaged with his house and chef responsibilities.
But with this accident, his world had come crashing hard. He had the added responsibility of being a pillar of strength for his kids. And to top it off, his phone was constantly ringing with people following up on the bills and loans which were to be paid. Mr. Vikas couldn’t help it. An ache started deep in his stomach. He turned away as his eyes welled up with tears. And suddenly he remembered!
There was an Envelope!!
It was given by Mrs. Vikas to be kept safe and opened only in case of an emergency. While at the hospital, he told his kids to be with their Mom, while he ran home, and opened the small secret compartment behind the bathroom mirror where the envelope was kept. It had an Email ID “open4emergencyonly@gmail.com” written in small case letters with just an * mark next to the password.
At the bottom of the note was the same * mark with the following sentence, “Password is the name of the café where we first met”. Only Mr. and Mrs. Vikas knew the name of the café. Immediately he tried logging into the account by entering the password. His phone received an SMS beep, an OTP sent to his number. He entered the same and he was able to log in.
The account as such had no mails from anyone in the Inbox but the drafts folder had multiple which were still in draft mode. The subject line of these emails were
- “All Bank Account Details”
- “All Life & Medical Insurance Details”,
- “All Loan Details”
- “All Mutual Funds Details”
- “All Emails login and password”
Heaving a sigh of relief, Mr. Sharma now had access to all bank accounts, emergency fund details, and insurance and could make payments or initiate process for claims on the hospital expenses.
2 months went by before Mrs. Vikas came back to consciousness. Mr. Vikas had told all done well thanks to Mrs. Vikas. And they lived happily ever after! Be like Mrs. Vikas.
Plan ahead for an emergency!
